P600 Hydra Cell metering pumps provide API 675 compliant metering pump performance with regards to steady state accuracy, linearity and repeatability for flow rates as high as 894 GPH at pressures up to 1000 PSI.
The sealless design of P600 Hydra Cell metering pumps enables them to meter a broad range of difficult to pump fluids such as the system below installed for aqueous ammonia (catalyst) injection at a power plant. Mechanical seals, cups and packing are eventual leakage pathways and in addition to fugitive emissions, those conventionally sealed pumps and system components can be damaged as a result. By contrast, the sealless design of the P600 Hydra Cell pump enables is to reliability pump non-lubricating, abrasive and extreme temperature fluids.
Flow rate is controlled by controlling pump shaft speed and this is accomplished with a gear box and (optionally) a variable frequency drive (VFD) when a specific flow range is desired. The P600 is actually a standard model H25 Hydra Cell pump with a right angle gearbox; the gearbox mechanically reduces the pump shaft speed in support of lower flow rates and minimizing the motor/VFD horsepower required. Most VFD's have some programmability and can be interfaced with a customer supplied PLC although we offer a preprogrammed PLC/VFD control package call the "Control Freak" capable of controlling as many as six metering pump simultaneously.
User Friendly Design
The only components in contact with the pumped fluid are the elastomers and check valves. Although the check valves will eventually wear and require replacement, that's not necessarily so for the elastomers. After testing for approximately 20,000 hours of continuous operation it was discerned that there was no appreciable "wear" to the elastomers. The check valves will typically last 6570-8760 hours (9-12 months of continuous operation) depending upon the fluid characteristics and the materials used for the check valves.
Check valves are easily replaced without needing special tools or training; often they can be replaced without removing the pump from the process line and within 90 minutes.
